Jon “Bernie” Albanese

Jon began at WRKO with an internship as a senior in college with the Blute and Ozone Morning Show in January of 2003. He grew to be known around the halls of Entercom as “Bernie,” an all-inclusive technical producer. After many weekend, overnight, and fill-in shifts, Jon joined the Red Sox broadcasts midway through the 2007 World Championship season and now is the Executive Sports Producer for Entercom Boston, which also includes producing the Boston Celtics radio broadcasts.

Born and raised in Melrose, MA, a graduate of Curry College and with radio in his blood, Jon is excited to be involved with Red Sox broadcasts. He says that “when I was a kid, my father would put on the radio, and I’d hear Joe Castiglione broadcasting from Fenway Park. As a guy who is a born-and-bred Boston sports fan, growing up only a few miles from Fenway, it is a dream come true to be part of something as special as Red Sox Radio.”

Jon is a man of many nicknames. You may also know him as ‘Bernie’ (due to his former mutton-chop look) or as Joe and Dave call him ‘The Babe’ or ‘Bambino’ (Joe says he sounds like Babe Ruth in his latter years).

After living on-and-off in Rhode Island and in Milton, MA, Jon resides in Stoughton. He enjoys golf, The Three Stooges, spending time with family/friends, the beach, Sam Adams, and grilling when he’s not figuring out how many strikeouts Josh Beckett has.
