Ryan Dent was selected with Boston’s second pick in the 2007 draft, taken 62nd overall in the sandwich round. The 23 year old from Long Beach, CA made it to Portland for the first time in 2011. He’s played mostly shortstop in his professional career so far, but has also seen time at second and even a little centerfield. In 6 games so far in 2012 Dent is off to a 5-16 start with a HR.
