Contest Rules
These contest rules are specific to the above contest conducted by Entercom Boston, LLC d/b/a: WEEI collectively, the station. Except to the extent specifically set forth below with respect to this specific contest, the station’s general contest rules apply to this contest as well. A copy of these specific rules and the WEEI’s general contest rules are available at the station’s studio at 20 Guest Street, Brighton, MA 02135 during regular business hours and on the contest page on the station’s website at: www.WEEI.com. To the extent that the general contest rules differ from these rules, these rules will govern and control with respect to this contest.
How to Enter
1. No purchase necessary. Contest starts on February 4, 2009 and the last day to enter will be January 1, 2010. The Contest may not be conducted every week during the period of 2/4/09 and 1/1/10. In the event the Contest will not be conducted during a particular week, the Station will announce this on-air and on its website.
2. Each Monday through Thursday (except the first week of the Contest in which entries will only be taken Wednesday, February 4, 2009 and Thursday, February 5, 2009 only) during a week in which the Contest is being conducted call 617-779-3535 (calls to other Station numbers are not acceptable in this Contest) 24 hours a day and record your “whine” on the Big Show’s Whiner Line. Only the first 60 seconds of the “whine” will be judged by the Big Show staff for eligibility to be a “Weekly Qualifier” (see below). If a message is longer than 60 seconds it will not be disqualified and the entire message (even the portion longer than 60 seconds) may be used for judging by listeners in the weekly online voting session. Each separate call will be considered a separate entry in this Contest. There is no limit to the number of times an individual can enter this Contest. All messages must be received no later than 5 PM ET on each Thursday in which the Contest is conducted to be eligible to be selected by the Big Show and voted on by the listeners as the “Whiner of the Week” for that particular week of the Contest. Station is not responsible if an entrant is unable to leave a message if the Whiner Line mailbox is full.
3. IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU LEAVE A MESSAGE AT 617-779-3535, YOU MUST SEND AN EMAIL TO WHINEOFTHEWEEK@WEEI.COM AND LEAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED AS A WEEKLY QUALIFIER: FIRST AND LAST NAME, ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER (INCLUDING AREA CODE), THE APPROXIMATE TIME YOU LEFT A MESSAGE ON THE WHINER LINE AND THE CONTENT OF THE MESSAGE YOU LEFT ON THE WHINER LINE. EMAILS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 5 PM ET ON EACH THURSDAY IN WHICH THE CONTEST IS CONDUCTED TO BE ELIGIBLE TO BE SELECTED BY THE BIG SHOW AND VOTED ON BY THE LISTENERS AS THE “WHINER OF THE WEEK” FOR THAT PARTICULAR WEEK OF THE CONTEST.
4. The message MUST NOT contain any copyrighted music, video, lyrics or other material unless the caller has obtained all of the appropriate licenses for the commercial use of such copyrighted material.
5. Only the individual who submits the entry can be heard in the message. No other person’s voice can be captured in the message. ANY MESSAGE THAT INCLUDES MORE THAN ONE PERSON OR IF THE IDENTIFIED PERSON IS NOT THE ACTUAL ENTRANT WHOSE VOICE IS ACTUALLY HEARDIN THE MESSAGE, THAT ENTRY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND ANY PRIZE WILL BE FOREFIETED.
6. Station reserves the right to post some or all of the messages on the Station’s website or play it on the air, in whole or in an edited form (in Station’s sole discretion). By leaving a message in this Contest you are giving Station consent to play your message on Station’s website or play it on-air, in whole or in edited form (in Station’s sole discretion) without any compensation. Any broadcast or posting of an entry or message is no indication of whether or not an entry is eligible or might win and no such entry will have any advantage in qualifying or winning in this Contest.
7. ALL ENTRIES BECOME THE SOLE PROPERTY OF STATION AND MAY BE USED BY STATION IN ANY MEDIUM IT DEEMS DESIRABLE NOW OR IN THE FUTURE WITHOUT ANY COMPENSATION TO THE ENTRANT.
8. By entering in this Contest, Entrants acknowledge and agree that they will comply with all local, state and/or federal laws or other associated rules and regulations associated that may be applicable.
9. Entries must not contain any indecency, profanity or obscenity as determined by Station in its sole discretion. Entries may be edited by Station in its sole discretion. BY ENTERING THIS CONTEST AND SUBMITTING A MESSAGE, THE ENTRANT IS REPRESENTING TO STATION THAT THE USE AND DISTRIBUTION OF SUCH MESSAGE WILL NOT VIOLATE OR INFRINGE UPON THE RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, COPYRIGHTS OF OTHERS. By submitting a message, Entrants agree to indemnify Station should any representations and warranties in these contest rules prove to be false or inaccurate.
10. By entering this contest, Entrants understand and agree that Station may elect to use any entry submitted for entertainment purposes and may choose to comment on, mock, poke fun at, and/or mimic any entry submitted. Entrants waive any right to make any claim against Station or any contest sponsors with respect to any comments - disparaging or otherwise - made regarding such Entrant’s entry.
How to Win
11. Each Thursday during the Contest at approximately 6:30 PM ET the Big Show staff will select up to 5 “whines” that were received on the Whiner Line from the immediately preceding Monday through that same Thursday by 5PM ET that they determine to be the best based on any lawful criteria they determine in their sole discretion (each a “Weekly Qualifier” and collectively the “Weekly Qualifiers”). The Weekly Qualifiers are not entitled to any prize at this point, but for the opportunity to be selected as the “Whiner of the Week” in that week’s online voting session.
12. After the conclusion of the Big Show each Thursday until the next day (i.e., the immediately following Friday) at 5pm (ET) during the Contest, listeners will be encouraged to go to www.WEEI.com/whine or The Big Show’s page on WEEI.com by going to WEEI.com and clicking on the Big show Page’s Whine of the Week feature and you will be asked to vote for which Weekly Qualifier who they think should win “Whiner of the Week.” Each listener who casts a vote during a particular week’s voting session for “Whiner of the Week” will also be eligible to be selected as the “Listener of the Week” in that week’s “Listener of the Week” random drawing (see immediately below). Listeners can vote as many times as they wish. Upon the conclusion of each week’s voting session, the Weekly Qualifier with the most number of online votes will be the “Whiner of the Week”, upon confirmation of eligibility and compliance with these official contest rules. In the event of a tie among 2 or more Weekly Qualifiers, the Big Show staff will determine who the “Whiner of the Week” is based on any lawful criteria they determine in their sole discretion, upon confirmation of eligibility and compliance with these official contest rules. The “Whiner of the Week” will be announced on-air and online at approximately 5:45pm (ET) on the Friday in which they are selected as the weekly winner.
13. On or about 6:00 pm (ET) on each Friday during the Contest, the Station will randomly select one listener among all listeners who voted in that week’s “Whiner of the Week” online voting session who will win a “Weekly Listener Prize” (described below), upon confirmation of eligibility and compliance with these Contest rules (“Weekly Listener Winner”). Station will only be required to send one email to the Weekly Listener Winner’s email address on file. If no answer or response, Station will not be obligated to attempt any further contact. However, Station reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to attempt to contact any Weekly Winner more than once and shall not be required to contact all winners an equal number of times or in the same manner or mode.
14. All “Whine of the Week” winners will be made eligible to win “Whiner of the Year” and win the Grand Prize (see below), upon confirmation of eligibility and compliance with these official Contest rules. The Big Show staff will determine the “Whiner of the Year” based on any lawful criteria they determine in their sole discretion. The “Whiner of the Year” will be announced no later than March 1, 2010. The actual date of the announcement of the winner of the “Whiner of the Year” will be announced on-air and online in the beginning of 2010.

15. Each “Whiner of the Week” winner will receive a $100 gift card to Grossman’s Bargain Outlet and qualifies for an opportunity to be awarded the Whiner of the Year. Gift certificate expires one year from the date of issue. Gift cards are subject to other terms and restrictions and may not be redeemed for cash. No cash back will be given upon the use of the card.
16. Each “Listener of the Week” winner will receive a $50 gift card to Grossman’s Bargain Outlet. Gift certificate expires one year from the date of issue. Gift cards are subject to other terms and restrictions and may not be redeemed for cash. No cash back will be given upon the use of the card.
17. Up to one (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a $5,000 gift card to Grossman’s Bargain Outlet. Gift certificate expires one year from the date of issue. Gift cards are subject to other terms and restrictions and may not be redeemed for cash. No cash back will be given upon the use of the card.

19. To enter, contestants must be legal residents of the State(s) of: Massachusetts, New
Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine and Connecticut, who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry.
